A place for memorial
There’s something quite wonderful I’ve seen for the first time in New York this trip. My wife’s brother’s wife (sister-in-law?) has done something really beautiful for my wife and her husband in Central Park. She’s had a plaque put on a bench for their late father. It’s also a wonderful thing for her, for me and for my son too.
I never knew my father-in-law....
Nine years starting with Open
Just under 10 years ago I joined a startup. First one I’d ever joined. It wasn’t a startup in the conventional sense. It was a journal within a science publisher called GenomeBiology.

There’s a full, “how it was made” blogpost on The Guardian Open Platform blog and the source code for the robot is on GitHub (it’s obviously very, very similar to the search based Complety bot from the Wave Team’s Demo).
